On February 8, 2010 the Boeing 747-8 Freighter, newest high-capacity freighter of the U.S. Boeing 747 Freighter family, successfully took to the sky for its first flight. According to the company press release the flight program has been fully accomplished.
Progresstech engineers have made their contribution to the new freighter development by providing an engineering support in development of such key elements as engine pylons, nose, mid and tail fuselage sections as well as outer wing ribs, front and rear wing edges and lift devices for Boeing 747-8 F. Also Progresstech engineers have assisted in freighter fuselage and wing process design, first trial flight and tests.
As Sergei Kravchenko, President, Boeing-Russia/CIS stated, the first flight of Boeing 747-8 Freighther has been another significant phase in the aviation history, with Russian partners and Boeing Design Center in Moscow taking an important part therein.
